Based on the calculation of a 5W LED lamp using about 80 standard chips, the chip production capacity of Sanan Optoelectronics is expected to produce 34.2 billion 5W LED lamps. Compared with energy-saving lamps (12W) with the same illumination, each LED lamp can save energy by 20.4 degrees. The 34.2 billion LED lights can save 697.68 billion kilowatt-hours of energy, which is equivalent to the annual power generation of 6.2 Three Gorges Dam power stations. According to public data, one 5W LED lamp can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 0.296 tons, and 34.2 billion can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 10.123 billion tons, making an important contribution to my country's "carbon peak and carbon neutral" goal. Compared with traditional street light sources, each LED streets light saves 3128 RMB in electricity bills per year. According to data from the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, China's urban road lighting will increase to 30.486 million in 2020. If all are replaced with LED street lights, the annual electricity bill will be saved in total 95.36 billion RMB, and the economic benefits are very considerable.

In addition, the intelligent control of LED lighting will also bring secondary energy saving. Ruan Jun told reporters that LED is not only a light source, but also an electronic component. It is easy to integrate control and can realize secondary energy saving through intelligent control. For example, in the indoor area, the lights can be turned off by people, or the brightness can be controlled by time; in the outdoor area, the brightness can be adjusted by road section and time by single light control. "LED indoor and outdoor lighting products can achieve more than 50% energy saving compared with traditional lighting products through the improvement of luminous efficiency; through intelligent control, more than 20% energy saving can be achieved. In general, LED lighting is comparable to traditional lighting products. Compared with energy saving, it can achieve energy saving of 50%~75%. In addition to energy saving, LED has also changed the way of lighting design, realizing the lighting of “light but not light”, which can achieve a better light environment while saving energy.” Ruan Jun said.
